Imaging technologies play a key role in addressing societal challenges in areas such as health, care and safety. This call will focus on the (further) development of these systems to tackle these societal challenges. Specifically, the development of modular, portable and autonomous systems can ensure that these systems are deployed widely and efficiently, even in a shrinking labour market or in the face of volatile activities across the broad field of security and care. To achieve this, factors such as responsible implementation right through to the end user and user-friendliness are crucial for widespread application. Furthermore, developments in AI, edge computing, and consumer electronics are accelerating this innovation.
